Our students recently visited Whipsnade Zoo for a fun and educational visit! The main event was a special "Meet the Giraffes" lesson led by Marcus, a learning mentor at the zoo. During the session, students learned all about giraffes—how they live, what they eat and how we can help to protect them.
The hands-on experience allowed students to see the giraffes up close. They had opportunities to ask questions and deepen their understanding of these amazing animals. After the lesson, the students returned to school to write non-chronological reports about giraffes.
This visit was a fantastic way to bring classroom learning to life and to write for a real purpose. We are grateful to Marcus and the team at Whipsnade Zoo for making it such a memorable day. We look forward to more exciting educational adventures in the future!
