Meet Hermes: Our Newest Farm Friend!

Writer's picture: Miss WoodMiss Wood

Exciting news from the school farm—our family has grown! We’re thrilled to introduce Hermes, a baby chinchilla who has just joined our farm. With his soft silvery fur, big curious eyes, and playful personality, Hermes has already stolen our hearts.

Getting to Know Hermes

Hermes is still a baby, so he’s getting used to his new home. Chinchillas are naturally energetic and love to jump and explore, so you might catch Hermes bouncing around his enclosure or happily nibbling on hay. These little animals are known for their incredibly soft fur—in fact, they have the densest fur of any land mammal! This keeps them warm in the wild, but it also means they need special dust baths instead of water to stay clean.

Why "Hermes"?

Hermes is named after the Greek messenger god, known for his speed and agility—just like our quick little chinchilla! He loves to dart around and investigate his surroundings, always curious about what’s happening on the farm.
